Nightmare: The Lunatic is a roguelite action platformer built around the parry. You come to with no idea who you are, trapped in a nightmare that resets every time something kills you — and something will. Maetdol Games hangs the whole combat system on reading an attack and answering it: three weapons you swap between mid-fight, special attacks that cost you something, and enemies whose patterns you learn by dying to them. Between runs you collect totems that stack into builds, so the character gets stronger even when the run does not. Bosses are the wall you measure progress against. The story is buried in the descent, and finding out what is at the bottom is the point.
