SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance is Lizardcube's revival of Sega's ninja series, and it looks like nothing else on the platform — every frame drawn by hand, in the same style that made Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap and Streets of Rage 4 stand out. Joe Musashi comes home to find his village destroyed by the Ent Corporation and goes after them across a 2D action platformer that rewards aggression: chain sword strikes into kunai throws, ninjutsu and aerial cancels, and the combo meter keeps climbing as long as you keep moving. This Deluxe Edition bundles the Season Pass, including the SEGA Villains Stage that pits Joe against Dr. Eggman, Death Adder and Majima, plus a starter pack, digital art book and soundtrack.
